Terms & Conditions
Last updated 26 October 2026
Aegis Spaces ("the Service") is provided by Michael Smurthwaite-Cairns, an individual based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). When you use the Service you are contracting with Michael Smurthwaite-Cairns. Contact: support@aegisspaces.co.uk.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
2. The Service
Aegis Spaces lets families, friend groups and carers share location, check-ins, saved places and in-app alerts with people they invite. The SOS feature is an in-app alert to members of your space only; it does not contact emergency services. In an emergency, always call 999 or your local emergency number.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16, or use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
- You must only share or request location with the knowledge and consent of the people involved.
- Keep your login details confidential and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account.
4. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the Service, including by:
- using it unlawfully, or to stalk, harass or covertly track anyone;
- fraud, spam or impersonation;
- infringing anyone's intellectual property;
- interfering with security: uploading malware, probing, scraping, reverse engineering or bypassing limits.
5. Intellectual property
We own the Service and its software, design, documentation and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it within your plan. You may not resell or redistribute it.
6. Payments and subscriptions
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, renewal, tax, cancellation and refund terms are set out in Paddle's Buyer Terms. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. See our Refund Policy.
7. Service level
We work hard to keep the Service reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that locations will always be accurate or current. Location depends on your device, network and permissions. The Service is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously break our policies. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. When access ends, your data is deleted as described in our Privacy Notice.
9. Liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as loss of profit, data or goodwill). Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything that cannot be limited by law.
10. General
We may update these terms and will notify you of material changes. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
